A 2002 National Sleep Foundation poll revealed 74 percent of American adults experience a sleep problem a few nights or more each week. Those problems could result in greater issues than just fighting to stay awake through a morning meeting or class lecture. Prolonged sleep problems are associated with a number of chronic diseases and conditions - such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity and depression.
