Monument Health names Pierce president of Rapid City Hospital and Market

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Longtime Monument Health executive John Pierce has been named to the permanent position as President of the Rapid City Hospital and Market. He had been serving as Acting President since July.

Pierce brings a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the organization, given his 19 years with Monument Health. He started as Director of Senior Care Services. He later served as Director of Strategic Planning and CEO of Monument Health Physicians. In 2015, he transitioned to Vice President of the Rapid City Hospital and Market.

Pierce has a master’s degree in Health Services Administration from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Mo. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a former President of the South Dakota Healthcare Executives Group. He currently serves as a board member on the South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations.
