Patient & Family Feedback

Whether you are a patient or family member, we rely on your feedback about your experience with Regional Health. Patient feedback allows us to understand what we’re doing well — and where we have opportunity to improve. We share our survey scores and written comments with physicians and caregivers.  And we’re always looking for ways to improve your experience.

All acute care hospitals in the United States participate in a patient survey process regulated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). This Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey measures patients’ perspectives of their hospital care.

Eligible patients are surveyed after hospital discharge, and composite results for the hospital are displayed. In addition to the inpatient HCAPHS survey, Regional Health also surveys patients who have received care in our other outpatient and clinic settings.

You can see the publicly available survey results for the past four consecutive quarters at medicare.gov/hospitalcompare.

Surveys are administered by Press Ganey Associates, Inc., Regional Health’s authorized survey vendor.

Patient and Family Advisory Councils

Regional Health hosts Patient and Family Advisory Councils (PFAC) who are dedicated to strengthening collaboration between patients, family members and Regional Health to enhance patient experience. Councils consist of patients, families, and Regional Health caregivers who share honest, unique personal insights so that Regional Health can improve patient safety and the quality of care provided to patients and families.

A PFAC exists for each of our five hospitals. Council members serve as advisors for up to two years. Members may also be asked to serve on special committees or other associated projects.

PFAC members are committed to:

  • Attending 10-12 meetings annually.
  • Respectfully collaborating with others to help Regional Health improve patient experiences.
  • Sharing personal patient experiences and feedback in a transparent manner.
