RAPID CITY, S.D. — Regional Health announced that the second annual Donate Life 5k run/walk will be held Sunday, April 28, in Rapid City.
Regional Health partners with LifeSource and Dakota Lions Sight and Health to provide best-in-class donor services to meet the needs of the health care community, patients and donors. Donations save lives and offer hope and healing.
“Regional Health is honored to partner with LifeSource and Dakota Lions Sight and Health on our donation program. It is very humbling, and we are extremely proud of all the work that our caregivers have done to ensure we provide our community with the best service possible,” said Stephanie Battell, Director of Nursing at Regional Health Rapid City Hospital.
Regional Health, Qdoba, LifeSource and Dakota Lions Sight and Health are sponsoring the 5K Life Walk, supporting Donate Life and spreading awareness of organ, eye and tissue donation to help encourage donor registration and celebrate those who have saved lives. Registration for the 5K starts at 12:00 p.m. at Founders Park Pavilion, 1510 West Omaha St. The proclamation on behalf of the Mayor’s Office will be read by City Councilwoman Laura Armstrong at 12:30 p.m. At that time, those who have been impacted by donation will be invited to share their stories. The walk/run will start at 1 p.m. Money raised at the event will go toward creating a Wall of Remembrance honoring organ donors.
