Through a collaborative partnership with the City of Custer and the Custer Community Health Services, Custer Regional Hospital and Clinic began a rebuild of the hospital and clinic to allow room for future growth, recruit new physicians, nurses, clinicians, and to enhance Regional Health’s ability to provide coordinated, high-quality care. Patients will benefit from the most innovative and advanced medical technologies in a safe and healing environment specifically designed for patient care. The one-story, 42,000 square-foot flexible and functional architectural design will bring new caregiver efficiency, enhanced patient care environment, larger public spaces and added privacy in patient care rooms and the land provides an ideal location for future expansion, added parking, enhanced access, improved ambulance flow, and a superior helicopter landing area. The hospital will continue to operate as usual throughout the construction process. Upon completion of the new hospital, which is anticipated to be in early 2018, Regional Health will transform the former site into green space and deed it back to the City of Custer.
