Department Description: The Cardiac Intervention Unit is a 43 bed progressive cardiology unit providing 24-hour care for cardiac patients. Patients are primarily admitted from the cardiac catheterization lab, electrophysiology lab, cardiovascular surgery and the Emergency Department. Care is provided for medical cardiology patients with diagnoses such as chronic heart failure, dysrhythmias, medication adjustments, chest pain and acute myocardial infarctions. Most of our patients require telemetry monitoring and the cardiovascular surgical pod (6NE) has the capability for invasive line monitoring. Here are a few of the meaningful responsibilities you will have when you join our team as a   Registered Nurse at Rapid City Regional Hospital: In collaboration with the patient and patient’s family, significant others, and members of the health care team, deliver quality care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient needs. Demonstrate compassion in providing care and clinical competency by using technology, administering medications, performing procedures and managing emergencies. Focus on safe and quality care by documenting according to established standards and participating in data collection for current studies. Assist in Regional Health’s strategic goals by incorporating the initiatives to support the strategic plans into the daily work, i.e. Continuous Performance Improvement. Influences multi-disciplinary relationships by enhancing collaborative processes. Shows willingness to share through teaching. To ensure patient safety and clinical quality, this role requires the following education, licensure, and experience: Graduate of accredited school of nursing South Dakota  Registered Nurse license ACLS/BLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire We greatly value the following education, licensure, and experience (although only preferred ): Bachelor’s Degree in nursing Prior cardiac care experience
