Environmental Services Tech - Day shifts

The Environmental Services Tech performs designated cleaning and disinfecting in all areas of the facility. These areas are organized in a system of zones. The Environmental Services Tech collects and disposes of trash; checks and replenishes supplies. When necessary, the Environmental Services Tech operates custodial equipment, performing such duties as cleaning, polishing, scrubbing, stripping and waxing of hard floors, and carpet cleaning. The Environmental Services Tech may distribute linen and collect soiled linen from zones. The Environmental Services Tech reports items that need to be fixed, required equipment maintenance, and supplies needed to the Environmental Services Director. Essential Functions:           Performs a variety of cleaning duties to ensure a set standard of cleanliness in the facility. Adjusts duties so that the cleaning needs of the facility are met. Responds to special requests, completing them as soon as possible, giving suitable priority to immediate needs in patient care areas. Responds to the needs of the department. Prioritizes and organizes assigned tasks with minimum of supervision. Understands and follows proper disposal procedures for hazardous and medical waste in accordance with established guidelines. Assists OR personnel with room turnovers, including total cleaning of rooms as necessary and upon request. Checks zone area’s for distribution of linen inventory and removal of soiled linen. Provides a safe environment through the proper operation, care and storage of equipment. Performs hard surface and carpeted floor care. Knowledge - Skills - Abilities Ability to work independently. Must be able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment with diverse groups of people. Good working knowledge of equipment and instrumentation required to perform duties of department. Previous housekeeping experience is desired.  Floor care experience is desired Requirements High School Diploma/G.E.D. Equivalent - Required
