Nurse Recognition

When you go into nursing, your profession is more than a paycheck. You truly care about the well-being of others, and you want to use your knowledge to help people feel better during their most difficult times. Regional Health nurses lead the way in our organization’s vision to “start with heart,” and are regularly recognized at the organizational, community, and national levels for providing skilled, compassionate care.

Magnet Recognized

Regional Health is honored to be among the 6 percent of hospitals to be included in the Magnet Recognition Program.

What is the Magnet Award?

Magnet is the highest level of recognition a hospital can receive for excellence in nursing. Magnet hospitals have better work environments, a more highly educated nursing workforce, superior nurse-to-patient staffing ratios, and higher nurse satisfaction. When a hospital receives Magnet Recognition, it means the hospital has created an environment that:

  • Supports nursing practice
  • Focuses on professional autonomy
  • Focuses on decision-making at the bedside
  • Involves nurses in determining the work environment
  • Encourages professional education
  • Promotes career development and nursing leadership
  • Magnet Certification recognizes a health care organization for quality patient care, nursing excellence and innovations in professional nursing practice

The American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Magnet Recognition designates these “Must-Have” qualities to be a Magnet Hospital:

  • Quality of Nursing Leadership
  • Quality of Care
  • Autonomy of Nursing Staff
  • Nurses as Teachers
  • Interdisciplinary Relationships
