RAPID CITY, S.D. (May 21, 2018) – The Children’s Miracle Network Radiothon raised over $85,000 for ill and injured children during the 2018 Radiothon, beating last year’s total by more than $5,000, the Regional Health Foundation announced.
The Radiothon, in its 10th year, took place May 11 in the lobby of Regional Health Rapid City Hospital. HomeSlice Media Group radio stations Kat Country 98.7, 93.9 The Mix, Hot 93.1 and Real Rock 100.3 broadcast live from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. to raise money for children. The stations aired patient and family stories throughout the day, with guest speakers and television appearances on KNBN NewsCenter1 and KOTA Territory News. Donors called in, donated online, sent texts or stopped by the lobby.
Every dollar raised for Children’s Miracle Network stays locally to help sick and injured kids in western South Dakota. The money is used to purchase everything from large lifesaving equipment to coloring books and preemie diapers.
